THE HUDA BEAUTY DUPES YOU NEVER KNEW YOU NEEDED...

Lets be honest, we would love it if our bank account could always stretch to that Nars Sheer Glow or a new Benefit Roller Lash. But in reality... well mine anyway, they are investments that can't be restocked every time we start scraping the bottles until they're wiped clean. This is where cheaper makeup dupes come in and save the day! I find if I research and find cheaper alternatives for my makeup products, the quicker I can splash the cash on a more pricey item.

Huda Beauty eyeshadow palettes are famous for their high pigmentation and beautiful colour range. However at £25 for a small palette of only 9 colours, their are cheaper, similar alternatives out there. I know £25 can be considered quite cheap for a premium beauty brand eyeshadow palette and I know there are considerably more expensive ones out there but for 9 different shades, you can defiantly get a lot more for your money!

The Huda Beauty Topaz Obsessions palette was one of my Christmas presents from my mum - Sandra done well I know... And ever since then it has been my go too eyeshadow palette hence why I have hit pan on one of the shades! However when my friend recently fell in love with it after I used it on her eyes before a night out, the inner university student inside her nearly screamed when she saw the price. This is when I thought I would research similar cheaper alternatives that she could still recreate the same look with whilst saving that dollar to use on something more important... do cocktails class as a balanced diet?

HUDA BEAUTY TOPAZ OBSESSIONS

WHAT - Huda Beauty Topaz Obsessions

WHERE - Online it is available to buy on Feel Unique or Selfridges

PRICE - £25

As I said before, this palette has been my go to since Christmas and the fact I have only hit pan on one of the shades is very surprising, however I think it does show the true quality of the eyeshadow and the pigmentation is so strong you really do not need a lot of product. Made up of 5 matte shades and 4 due-chrome shimmers it is the perfect compact sized palette to create either a day or night look. With minimal fall out and smooth pigmented colours this is one of the best palettes I have used (even compared to Morphe and Violet Voss). The eyeshadow stays on the eyes for the majority of the day even without using a primer! I would say it is worth the money HOWEVER when their are cheaper alternatives out there it is not always a necessity to splash the cash.

PS... AMBER PASSION

WHAT - PS... Amber Passion

WHERE - Primark

PRICE - £3 ( 😱😱)

Other then the fact that the mattes are really crumbly and there is a lot of fall out (100% apply before your skin makeup) this is defiantly one of Primark's better palettes! The colours do require a lot of buildup and the shimmers are really lovely if applied with a wet brush! I found that when used dry they do not show up as well. The pigment of the burnt orange colour (EDGE) is extremely bright and although not my usual cup of tea I may experiment with a brighter look to test it out. My only real issue though was the fact they don't stay very pigmented on the eye for very long so I recommend using an eyeshadow primer beforehand. Overall for £3 (that's an extra £22 to spend on those porn stars... the cocktail of course) it is good value for money, just needs patience and a good primer.

Lottie London - The Rusts

WHAT - Lottie London - The Rusts

WHERE - Available online at FeelUnique, Look Fantastic, Skinny Dip or in store at SuperDrug, BirchBox also stock some Lottie London products but I couldn't find this exact palette

PRICE - £ 4.95

Now I actually won this palette in an Instagram competition (yes I enter makeup giveaways and yes I won✌🏻😂) and after it being shipped to my house it arrived extremely smashed. This for me was a bad first impression as nothing else in the package was smashed so for me gave me the impression the eyeshadows were of poor quality. However I'm not one to judge a book by its cover and all that jazz so I gave the palette some TLC and it was back to being usable.

Lottie London is a PETA certified, cruelty-free brand that describes itself as being the “home of trending beauty”, a lot of their makeup is known for being influenced by current makeup trends and designer brands but without the high price tag. This was the first Lottie London product I had tried and I was excited too see if it really could be as good as the premium products.

Compared to the primark palette their was very little fallout when applying the shadows and the colours are richly pigmented but again the shimmers do perform better with a damp brush. The colours are very easy to blend and there are a number of different looks you could create with the colour range. The colours also defiantly stayed on longer than the primark palette and I would say nearly looked as strong in the evening then when I had first applied the makeup that morning.

Overall I do think this is a brilliant palette with smooth vibrant colours, maybe just be gentle when travelling with it!

Overall I must say that out of the two cheaper alternatives, the Lottie London palette was more similar in quality to the Huda Beauty palette however the Primark palette was more similar in shades. The Lottie London palette defiantly has more purple undertones colours where as Primark have stuck to the earthy tones. Lottie Londons shimmers actually came across more vibrant then Huda Beauty's and with the quality (apart from the original breakages but we will blame that on Royal Mail ) of the shadows along with the fact the eyeshadow actually stayed put, I may have a new go too! I would highly recommend trying out Lottie Londons - The Rusts palette before splurging on any other higher priced items!
